The first and best tip I give any of my friends looking for things to do when their schedule lightens up is to make a 'travel wish list.' My best friend and I started one a few months ago, and since then, we haven't had the trouble of running out of ideas and going through that seemingly endless exchange of what-should-we-do's.

We put together a Google Doc that we both are able to access and edit so that whenever we hear about a museum, restaurant, bar or any activity that we'd love to check out, we can just pull it up on our phone or laptop and add to the list. We also sorted the list by 'Local,' referring to our hot spots scattered throughout the greater Los Angeles area, 'California' to head the places that are more suitable for a weekend trip, and 'U.S.' for the more special out-of-state occasions that require a bit more planning.

Here are a few LA spots perfect for the upcoming Autumn chill:

Faith & Flower
If you know me, you know I love craft cocktails. I am SO here for the Faith & Tonic, Liliko'i Nui, and their Lucano Correcto. In addition to their regular menu is a brunch menu complete with a raw bar. Definitely making my way over ASAP. Located Downtown.

Beau Bar
Grab anything from a lavender honey latte to a mint matcha latte, or go for a classic cortado or cappuccino. Located in Koreatown, this cute cafe/interior design promised land is perfect for getting some computer work done, diving into that book you've been meaning to, or meeting good friends for a quick catch-up and a good photoshoot, latte en main.

Saffron & Rose
Hands down, one of my top five favorite ice cream shops. And okay, I know it's almost winter but ice cream is forever, even in cold weather. Take a chance from the basic and archaic chocolate/vanilla/strawberry holy trinity and go for cucumber, jasmine, orange blossom, white rose, poppy seed, or the shop's namesake flavor, saffron (with pistachio). I've even seen garlic a time or two, and there are always a few vegan options on deck. Located in Westwood.

The Vox Kitchen
Taiwanese, Chinese and Vietnamese fusion with a little Peruvian taste. Everything on the menu looks so good that one photo just couldn't do it justice. They're known for their garlic noodles with grilled prawns, but I'm definitely feeling their bacon brussel sprouts, bone-in short rib soup, and house Lomo Saltado shaken beef. Located in Fountain Valley.

OUE Skyspace LA
Multi-floor observation deck with 360 degree views of the city and a transparent glass slide you can go down that hangs off the side of the tower. Guaranteed swoon for anyone you take up to the view of these city lights to end a dinner date. Located in Downtown LA at the top of the US Bank tower.

IXLB Dim Sum Eats
Take-out dim sum sounds a little risky at first, but this hot spot has been getting pretty trusty reviews on Yelp. Their menu is focused on dim sum staples so it's perfect for grabbing your favorites to-go and bringing it home for a movie night, or to the park to brighten up a picnic. Located in Hollywood.

Preux & Proper
Cajun food always holds a special place in my heart, especially during the colder months. Hit the lower level Preux bar for a more casual dinner with friends or wine and dine upstairs in the Proper area. Modern takes on gumbo, etouffee, shrimp and grits, collard greens, YES. Located in Downtown LA.

Commissary
This little botanical scene has been on my radar for a while now. I'm all for an IG-worthy greenhouse and brunching off of cute vintage dishes, especially while being surrounded by endless verdure. Gotta bring a little life into the concrete jungle somehow. Located in Koreatown.

Brewport Tap House
Craft beer and wine lovers, this is it. Anytime there's a beer flight, I'm instantly hooked, so the 60 taps offered here sound pretty close to heaven. There's also a solid spread of pub food, including these brew infused flatbreads that sound pretty tempting. Located in El Segundo.

Marugame Monzo
There are 30+ udons made here, but the uni cream and butter mentai squid are at the top of my list. Definitely going to need multiple visits just to be able to try everything on the menu, especially since the noodles are handmade in shop. Everything sounds so good and perfect for ending a long day. Located in Little Tokyo.
