What better way to catch up with friends than brunch? Not too early and not too late, perfect for when you're still kinda buffering and waiting until you're awake enough to start your day.

Today my big and I decided to hit up this corner cafe known for their twists on open-face sandwiches, each with a quirky name - eggs in yo face, rollex, yolo - just to name a few. This place has been bookmarked on my Yelp for a while now and I'm kind of a sucker for restaurants with hip decor so I was really excited to try it out! Getting there and finding parking was no trouble at all and both the indoor and outdoor seatings were minimal and chic (I was actually surprised to find no crowd or lines for the most part).

Everything is made fresh from scratch and there was so much to choose from. Breakfast is served all day (always a plus) but they also have a few lunch options. We ordered the 'eggs in yo face' with bacon and sautéed veggies as well as the 'salmon in yo face' with poached egg and heirloom tomatoes, and - of course - a couple of lattes. The food was light but hearty and definitely satisfied my ever-present craving for brunch foods. All toppings aside, my big and I both found the wheat toast to be the best part of the dish, something about it, man. Definitely recommending to my fellow brunchers (or anyone else who has been on a carb rush lately)!

Perfect way to end a long week and get ready for the long weekend.

xx,
