Time, worth its weight in gold,
Its hands shielding your eyes as it
Holds the veil that separates you from a
future brighter than your brain waves that
burn hotter than the fire which
illuminates the walls that confine and define us
Theory and thought, ancient systematical rites of passage
A birthright, God-given fear for the forgotten
Are we ruled by the cosmos,
Or are we creatures of logic?
It’s an endless search, a
silver lining slow dripping its way into habit
The human soul functions as a solar system,
Sun-lit path, connected by dots and drawn by numbers
that call your name in their direction,
It’s sequential, celestial,
333, 999, your path fundamental
Sun-guided, gilded golden hour thoughts enlightened
Thirst for wisdom, matter and mind,
Jaded honey eyes adorned by the sunlight
Every so often, the stars align just right and
Your soul’s golden glow is pulled into the orbit of another,
Magnetized, energized, hypnotizing enough to slow down time
As the veil falls and Time lowers its hands to reach for theirs
Lose yourself in someone else’s gaze
and you’ll scare away the sun,
Running to hide as it seeks shelter beneath broken clouds
Hide and seek, childlike wondering,
wishing, and hoping you
won’t forget the cards it so carefully laid out for you
Look the other way and the sun might peak out
Wishing upon the very stars that it hopes you’re
still counting and connecting
the dots, the seeds of thought, planted
and sown across your canvas to
guide you through this sea of stars toward
A light that lies in wait,
Just past the other side of tomorrow
Look the other way and the sun might say hi,
Hoping you’ll still let it protect you from
falling down, knees scraped by worries earth bound,
Seek the ends of earth and
you’ll see life is but a dream defined by the most high,
Keep thinking forward, because
all that happens in the dark will always come to light
